Lapsed or Discontinued Studies

If you:

• have not re-enrolled and have not been granted Approved Leave (enrolment has Lapsed), or
• have withdrawn from all units and have not been granted Approved Leave (enrolment has been Discontinued) or
• have been Excluded from your course because of unsatisfactory academic progress,
you have effectively lost your place at UWA, and you need to apply for re-admission before you will be able to enrol again.

If, however, you have been Suspended from your course for a year because of unsatisfactory academic progress, you will be permitted to re-enrol at the end of your period of suspension.  Please check with your Faculty or Student Administration for relevant re-enrolment deadlines.

If re-admission is approved, you will be required to pay student contribution amounts or tuition fees applicable for commencing students in that particular year.

Firstly, you should check with your faculty office to see if you are within the official completion time limit for your course.

If you are within the time limit for your degree:
• Applications for readmission may be submitted via studentConnect between
Wednesday 8 October and Tuesday 16 December 2008.

If you are outside the time limit for your degree
Contact the Admissions Centre. See How to apply.

UWA has two intakes of students each year.  The major intake occurs in first semester (February), with a much smaller intake in second semester (July).  The closing dates for applications are much earlier, so please check the details carefully.

Applications for first semester entry to undergraduate courses at UWA are processed through the Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC), and usually close on the last Friday in September, with late applications accepted (with a late fee) until the end of November.  Late applications are not accepted for Medicine and Dentistry.

Mid-year (second semester) applications are processed by the UWA Admissions Centre directly, and close in early June.  For more information about second semester (mid-year) entry, please contact the Admissions Centre.
