Quota Units

There are a few quota restricted units on offer at UWA in 2010. The selection criteria is detailed under each Faculty heading.

Students wishing to attend these units must enrol in the unit(s) during the regular re-enrolment period. Only students enrolling in Faculty of Science quota units need to complete the "Application for Selection - Quota Restricted Units".

Quota restricted units will initially display as INVALID units on a student's enrolment record. Faculties will review the enrolments in the quota units after the re-enrolment period closes and students will be advised of the outcome in mid to late January. Students who are successful will have their unit status changed to ENROLLED from INVALID. Students who are not successful will be withdrawn from the invalid unit. Queries about Invalid units should be made to your Faculty Office.

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION (Science)

Academic merit will be the main criterion used in ranking applicants for each unit. The complete academic records of applicants will be taken into consideration for this purpose, and particular attention will be given to prerequisite units. Other factors which may be taken into account include:

(1) applicants who have already completed the minimum requirements for the BSc pass degree may be given a lower priority than those who have not;

(2) applicants who have not yet completed the second year of the BSc degree may be given a lower priority than applicants in the third year of the course.
